What is your policy on damages and accidents?Please notify us immediately in case of any damages or accidents. The renter will be liable for the first US$2,000 or US$2,500 in damages, depending on the class of the vehicle.

What are your office hours?Our office is open from Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM. We remain closed on Sundays and certain public holidays.

Do you offer 24/7 support?We do not offer 24/7 support. However, our website is equipped to address most general inquiries. Our team is available for assistance during regular business hours.

What are the age requirements for renting a vehicle?To rent a vehicle, you must be at least 25 years old. Additionally, if you are a Jamaican resident or citizen using a Jamaican driver's license, our insurance mandates that your driver's license must have been issued for a minimum of three years. This can be verified by the "Original Date of Issue" noted on the back of the driver's license.

What documents do I need to provide?To proceed, you are required to present a valid driver's license, a credit card, and an additional form of identification, such as a passport or a national ID card, if you are not a Jamaican citizen or resident.

Do you require a deposit?A security deposit is mandatory at the time of rental, amounting to US$335 or JMD$50,000 in cash. This deposit will be refunded upon the conclusion of your rental, or a prorated amount will be provided if any damages to the vehicle occur.

Do you provide child seats?Yes, we provide child seats on a first-come, first-served basis, complimentary with your rental, subject to availability. Kindly request these services at the time of making your reservation.

Can I add an additional driver?Yes, you may include an additional driver in your rental agreement at no extra cost.

Do you offer corporate or group rentals?Yes, we offer corporate and group rentals. Please contact us for more information and special rates.

Where can I pick up and drop off the vehicle?You can pick up and drop off the vehicle at our office or at designated locations. Please contact us for more information.

Do you offer airport pickup or drop-off services?Yes, we have partnered with a taxi/tour company to provide airport pickup and drop-off services for a nominal fee. The cost for pickup or drop-off at Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is US$200 for each direction. For Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) or Ian Fleming International Airport (OCJ), the charge is US$150 each way. Kindly provide your flight details when booking your reservation.

What should I do if I return the vehicle late?If you return the vehicle late, additional charges may apply. Please contact us if you anticipate a late return.

What insurance options are available?The rental cost encompasses mandatory insurance, providing third-party liability coverage for our vehicles. This insurance covers damages and injuries to both the rental vehicle and any other vehicles involved in an accident. Renters are liable for an insurance deductible of US$2000 for Economy to Standard Class SUVs and US$2500 for Large SUVs and Passenger Vans. Please be aware that the renter is responsible for any damages to the windows, windshield, and tires that are not due to an accident.

What payment methods do you accept?Our establishment accepts a variety of payment methods including most major credit cards, debit cards, and cash. However, we do not accept American Express cards.

Are there any additional fees or charges?The additional fees we apply include a security deposit, airport pick-up and drop-off services, US$300 Smoke odor removal and a 5% surcharge for using a credit or debit card.

Can I smoke in the rental vehicle?No, at Eastern Rent A Car, we strive to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort in our vehicles. Therefore, smoking is strictly prohibited in all of our rental vehicles. This policy ensures that every customer enjoys a fresh and clean environment whenever they rent a car from us. If evidence of smoking is found, a cleaning fee of US$300 will be charged to remove odors and residues. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our fleet in excellent condition for all our clients.

Can I use my rental from Eastern Rent A Car as a taxi or ride-share service?No, at Eastern Rent A Car, we strive to provide our customers with high-quality vehicles for various travel needs in Port Antonio and around Jamaica. However, the use of our rental vehicles as a taxi for hire or ride-share service (such as Uber, InDrive and 876 On The Go) is strictly prohibited under our rental agreement terms. This policy ensures that our vehicles are used responsibly and remain well-maintained for all our customers. If you have any further questions or need a vehicle for business purposes, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team for more information.

What should I do if the vehicle breaks down?If your vehicle from Eastern Rent A Car breaks down, follow these steps to ensure your safety and receive prompt assistance: 1. **Ensure Safety**: Move the vehicle to a safe location off the road if possible. Turn on your hazard lights to alert other drivers. 2. **Contact Us**: Call or leave a message at our WhatsApp number +1 876-850-2449. Our team is ready to provide support and dispatch help to your location within 30 kilometers of Port Antonio, Jamaica. 3. **Provide Details**: Be prepared to give your exact location, a description of the issue, and your vehicle's identification number or license plate. 4. **Wait for Assistance**: Remain with the vehicle, if possible, until our qualified roadside assistance team arrives. They will either fix the issue on-site or arrange for a tow and provide you with a replacement vehicle if necessary. 5. **Follow-Up**: After the situation is resolved, our customer service team will follow up to ensure everything has been addressed to your satisfaction.
